Sustainable tourism - THE NOMINEES

ZALLINGER REFUGE

Company: Zallinger OHG der Schieder Aloisia & Co

The Zallinger refuge stands where it was built in 1854, amidst scenic surroundings at 2,054 m above sea level in the Seiser Alm area, under Mt. Sassopiatto - the flat rock.

The present refuge is the result of a historical and artistic restoration project that the owners entrusted to the South Tyrolean architecture studio Noa, dedicated to developing innovative solutions for sustainable tourism.
Once surrounded by seven barns and a small church, the building was renovated maintaining the ancient Alpine architecture with an undeniable aesthetic result and the allocation of the KlimaHotel certification of eco-friendly hotel design.

The enlargement of the Zallinger refuge has given way to a new hospitality model in the sign of responsible tourism for a maximum holiday experience with minimal environmental impact.
