The inhabitants, breeders, farmers, artisans and tourist operators of the Valpelline have decided to collaborate in breathing life into a large-scale project which will enable them to become active protagonists in their community's choices for development and, above all, proud of the places in which they live.
Their aim is to revive the historical memory, all too often forgotten, and to safeguard the primary source of their livelihood: the mountain environment.
They intend to enhance the traditional customs that, in the contexts of agriculture and tourism, often coincide with the more modern "good sustainable practice".
The farm shops on the premises of farmers and breeders promote better knowledge of their products and their work.
The small family-run outlets enable direct contact with tourists and hence the passing on of accurate information.
At the prize-giving ceremony on 5th February 2020 in Milan, the winning proposals nominated for the 4 competing categories of the 1st edition of the Lagazuoi Winning Ideas Mountain Awards were announced.
The three award-winning projects of each category will be exhibited until 30th June 2020 at the Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti, the innovative exhibition and conference centre on Mt. Lagazuoi in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
