The second edition of Winning Ideas Mountain Awards Awards is divided into four categories again, but one is new: "Mountain gastronomy industry", to enhance innovative methods of production and / or transformation of raw materials, but also new approaches to marketing and commercialization of the resources.
Each category was entrusted to a team of high-level experts who put together a list of the most interesting Italian and international projects.
The candidates in the "Mountain gastronomy industry" category were nominated by:
Maddalena Fossati - director at La Cucina Italiana
Massimiliano Tonelli - editor Gambero Rosso and Artribune
Norbert Niederkofler - chef with 3 Michelin stars at St. Hubertus restaurant
Four juries were selected to determine the winners of each category. These juries were made up of university students from the specific areas of expertise and evaluated the selected projects under the supervision of a reference professor.
The entrants for the category "Mountain gastronomy industry" were evaluated by the students of the degree course in Gastronomic Sciences at the University of Parma under the supervision of the lecturer Prof. Cristina Mora.
The winning projects of WIMA2021, Winning Ideas Mountain Awards, were displayed at Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti from 20th August to 24th October 2021in a dedicated special exhibition at 2,778 meters above sea level.
